The 6-piece Bakelite Dance Band (megaaphone, trumpet, sax/clarinet, piano, double bass and drums) played a big 1920s-theme Corporate Do at Quay West Resort last night.On stage from 7:30 - midnight. Plenty of people dressed vintage on the dancefloor enjoying our tunes. Lots of comments about how authentic we sounded. Very happy.
Also very honoured to have had Dave Rutledge on saxes/clarinet last night. He played with Jim Gussey and his ABC Dance Band in the early sixties and with a lot of visiting international acts.
